Cripple Creek Casino Files For Bankruptcy

CRIPPLE CREEK – The Imperial Casino Hotel in Cripple Creek has declared Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Chapter 11 Bankruptcy is a form of reorganization. The Imperial Casino Hotel will remain in business as it tries to restructure and pay off its debts.

Imperial President Robert Brooker tells NEWSCHANNEL 13,the casino/hotelwill remain open. He sayscustomerswon’t notice achangeand there won’t be any job cuts.

Currently, the Imperial website lists five job openings. Brooker says only one is still vacant and will still be filled.

The hotel was built in 1896 as the Collins Hotel. In 1905, its name was changed to Hotel Imperial.
