Caffeinated Kids: A NEWSCHANNEL 13 Investigation

KRDO – These days, it’s not uncommon to see energy-guzzling teens, downing monster-sized drinks. A quick pick-me-up is as close as nearest convenience store, for a cheap price.
“It’s just like an extra energy boost, when I don’t get any sleep and have to come to class, just to make it through the day,” says a high school freshman.
Lax rules mean energy drink companies do not have to advertise just how much caffeine is inside. This, despite several countries abroad banning certain energy drinks outright. So how much caffeine is too much? Could your teens be in jeopardy of caffeine intoxication?
Heather Skold gets to the last drop of the caffeine craze, energizing teens on NEWSCHANNEL 13, Wednesday at 10 p.m.
