Everyday Americans Speaking At The DNC

DENVER – The Democratic Party has a host of what it calls “Everyday Americans” speaking at this year’s convention.More than adozen lucky citizens from accross the country were chosen to tell their stories to the millions of their fellow Americans watching the 2008 DNC.

Here is a list of the 14people speaking during the first 3 days of the convention:

MONDAY

Theme: “One Nation.”

Mike Fisher of Indiana, an Amtrak mechanic concerned about being laid off, and his wife, Cheryl Fisher.

Margie Perez of Louisiana, who moved into a Habitat for Humanity home in New Orleans after her house was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Candi Schmieder of Iowa, who became a precinct captain after hearing Barack Obama’s speech at the 2004 convention.

TUESDAY

Theme: “Renewing America’s Promise.”

Pauline Beck of California, a home health-care worker.

Pamella Cash-Roper of North Carolina, who had no health insurance when she and her husband had severe and costly health problems.

David Gipp of North Dakota, who has worked to develop tribal colleges.

Robin Golden of Michigan, who is losing his job because a factory’s work is being moved to Mexico.

Katherine Marcano of Iowa, who works full time, attends college, provides health insurance for a sister and was displaced by this summer’s flooding.

WEDNESDAY

Theme: “Securing America’s Future.”

Mark Docherty of Michigan, a firefighter and Army veteran.

Michele Jones of Washington, an Army veteran.

Beth Robinson of Virginia, who is married to an active-duty Marine and has multiple sclerosis.

Xiomara Rodriguez of Nevada, a Coast Guard veteran and small-business owner.

Michael Wilson of Florida, a Republican and an Air Force veteran who served as medic in Iraq.
