Springs Drivers Amongst Best In Nation
COLORADO SPRINGS – A big accolade for Springs Drivers: they are ranked some of the safest in the nation according to the country’s second largest auto insurance carrier.
Allstate’s “America’s Best Drivers Report” ranks the Springs 11th in the nation as one of the best cities to drive in, down a few notches from 8th place last year.
That data is collected from Allstate’s collision reports gathered from two hundred cities.
It means that on the road you’re about nineteen percent less likely to have a crash than the rest of the country.
Nationally the liklihood of a collision is once every ten years, in the Springs it’s just over every twelve years. Allstate’s Cally O’Donnell says that’s good news when it comes to insurance rates, “There’s a direct correlation between what an insurance company is paying out to repair the vehicle in an accident and what it charges in premiums. So, as a consumer, yes, this is important to you because the safer we are, the more Colorado Springs moves up on that list the more our rates are stabilized and even will come down over time.”
The survey rank Sioux Falls as the safest city to drive in with Fort Collins coming in second, Denver ranks 48th.
Allstate says their data represents twelve percent of the nations auto policies, and they consider the study an accurate snapshot of what’s happening on our roads.
