2 Children Injured, Man Down Near Manitou Springs

EL PASO COUNTY – A 2 year old, a 5 year old, and their father are dead aftera night of violence inCrystal Park near Manitou Springs. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office tells NEWSCHANNEL 13 they were called to a home at 6240 Waterfall Loop to check the welfare of two children inside the home. It is believed the kids were in the custody of their father, and that a telephone conversation between the children’s father and their mother prompted the check the welfare call. Deputies found the kids dead inside the home.The situation escalated and deputies reportedly shot their father, killing him. NEWSCHANNEL 13 is there, and will provide updates when they are available.
