Teens Arrested
On June 11, 2008, a tip was received regarding the criminal mischief cases which occurred on or about June 2, 2008 in the Security/Widefield area (see MR 08-033).
Deputies investigating the information determined there were five (5) individuals involved in the criminal activity including one adult identified as William Wenzel (20 yrs old), and four (4) juvenile males ages 13, 15, 16, and 17 years old.
Wenzel was arrested on June 13, 2008 on multiple counts of criminal mischief. The four juveniles were also arrested and served a summons for multiple counts of criminal mischief. The arrest of these suspected cleared twenty five (25) cases of criminal mischief in the Security/Widefield area.
On June 16, 2008, at approximately 12:59 a.m., multiple calls reporting criminal tampering had occurred in the 700 block of Hackberry Drive and the 500 block of Widefield Drive. Several vehicles had obscene messages written on the windows. When checking the area, a deputy located two (2) female juveniles hiding in the back seat of a vehicle on Widefield Drive. A group of females were together a nearby residence and were determined to be responsible for the crimes.
Three (3) 15 year old girls and (3) 16 year old girls were contacted and interviewed. As a result of the interviews five (5) of the girls were cited with multiple counts of criminal tampering and/or curfew violations.
