Local Hewlett Packard Offices Closing Down

COLORADO SPIRNGS – NEWSCHANNEL 13 has confirmed the local Hewlett Packard offices off Rockrimmon are closing down, leaving the city with about 900 less jobs.

One employee, who wishes to remain anonymous, says he was told he could move to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where, according to the N.M. Governor’s office, a new large technical support center will open in mid-2009.

Colorado Springs’ Hewlett Packard is the third largest employer in the city, behind only Memorial and Penrose Hospitals.
