Safe Haven
DENVER- Authorities saythe person who left ababy outside a Denver hospital is not protected byColorado’s Safe Haven Law. The following is the story from the Associated Press:
To qualify for immunity under the law, the parent must hand the unharmed baby within 72 hours of birth to a fire fighter at a fire station, or an employee at a hospital. If the baby had not been harmed, and the person had handed it to a hospital employee, they could have walked away – no questions asked – and no threat from the police.
