Memorial Children’s Hospital Opens For Patients

COLORADO SPRINGS – The days of driving all the way to Denver to get medical treatment for your children are officially over. The new east tower at Memorial Hospital Central is opening up. A first for all of Southern Colorado.
380,000 square feetof wide open spacehas opened up at Memorial Central. Bringing you state of the art care in style.
“We have a full spectrum of care, we can take care of the mom’s who have complications and have the smallest babies here yet we can deliver in a very home like setting its family centered,”says Mary McMahon,program director at Memorial.
Thenew birth center is spacious yet private. Each family has their own room. Equipped with the best in technology and care.
“The real difference is that the environment is very comforting. We have other additions like the flat screen TV ineach room,” says McMahon.
Each room is also equipped with a DVD and CD player,private bath, even a blow dryer.
This is southern Colorado’s first and only children’s hospital. Its equipped with private rooms from the birthing room, to the NICU to the post-birth, mother and baby room.There is even a bed rest in every roomso dad can have a comfortable place to sleep too.
It’s a chance for your family to be togetherwhile your children are in the absolute best care.
“You’re worried about your child, your newborn or olerd children who is having heath problems. And them you have to go to Denver metro area and be separated from your family. Deal with parking and traffic, so here in southern Colorado people can come to the springs,” McMahon adds.
The new pediatric floor gives plenty of room to breathe, watch TV, even do laundry. All with out leaving your child behind. This 110 million dollar facility has just about everything you need.
The pediatric unit floor and pediatric intensive care unit just opened this week. Next week all children’s and women’s services will be open. And on December 17th the maternal- fetal clinic for high risk pregnancies will be open for patients.
