Air Force To Play Cal In Armed Forces Bowl
Air Force will play California in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. MT at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
Air Force and California have played seven times previously, including a 56-14 victory by Cal in Falcon Stadium in the 2004 season opener. Cal has a 5-2 overall series lead vs. Air Force. The Falcons are 0-3 at home vs. Cal and 2-2 in Berkeley. The Falcons are 1-1 vs. Cal head coach Jeff Tedford.
The Falcons are 27-31-2 all-time against teams from the Pac-10 conference, including a 1-2 mark in bowl games. The Falcons lost to Arizona State in the 1987 Freedom Bowl, 33-28, and to Oregon, 41-13, in the 1997 Las Vegas Bowl. The Falcons defeated Washington, 45-25, in the 1998 O’ahu Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.
