Scam Targeting Broncos Fans

COLORADO – If you are looking for tickets to the game against Oakland on Sunday, beware of the seller. A new scam hitting the Internet has die-hard fans sending cash for great seats at a really great price. The seller requests the money be through sent Western Union, but victims say they never get the tickets.
The problem has become so serious; Craigslist.com has begun to warn ticket buyers to never wire money.
The best advice is to meet the seller in a public place and then exchange money. The Denver Broncos warn that season ticket holders can’t sell tickets on-line, in the newspaper, or through an advertisement. The NFL club does offer those ticket holders an exchange program where they can sell their tickets at face value on the club’s website. The seller’s cost is 10% of the ticket price. The seller’s tickets are then voided and the buyer will be issued new tickets. Season ticket holders caught selling their tickets could have them revoked by the Broncos.
