Kohl’s Arrest

SIGNAL HILL, CA – Three people wanted in connectionwith a robbery at the Monument Kohl’s department store have been arrested in California. The incident in Monument happend on August 7th. A call was made to Monument Police after the officer confronted a shoplifter and he pulled a knife. The officer was also threatened with a gun, but followed the suspect to his get-away car. The driver then swerved the car up onto the sidewalk in an attempt to run over the officer.

NEWSCHANNEL 13 aired pictures taken from a Kohl’s security camera right away, asking anyone with information to contact police. Over the next few days, numerous citizens and law enforcement agencies contacted Monument PD with information on the suspects. One Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy informed MPD she recognized the suspects as people she had arrestedduring aroad rage incidenta few weeks earlier. At the time, the suspects said they were planning to move to another state and gave addresses in Tennessee and North Carolina. Police were then able to obtain warrants for all three suspects: 35-year-old Hugh Wrisbon, 25-year-old Jaime Schupann and 20-year-old William Clark.

However, all three suspects were arrested on August 23 in Los Angeles County, California while area police officers were investigating a shoplifting incident at a local COSTCO.A loss prevention officer had been assaultedas the suspects were attempting to flee, including being sprayed with WD40.
