Plans For New Police Station

By Stephanie Wurtzs.wurtz@krdotv.com

PUEBLO-After years of discussion and planning, the City of Pueblo is finally moving forward on a multi-million dollar project to construct a brand new police station. Monday, the city council will get a look at four different plans with budgets from $24 million to $34 million. The options range from constructing just the new police building to creating a new all-city campus at the already-approved site off Main Street between “C” and “D” Streets. Pueblo Police Deputy Chief John Ercul says regardless of which plan the council chooses, it will mean updated facilities and more space for the department. “It would allow us to bring all our people into one building where it can be more easily managed,” Ercul says, “and give us some expanded facilities for our laboratory and our investigations bureau.” The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Pueblo Convention Center and is open to the public.
