Bullets Hit Colorado Springs Bedroom

COLORADO SPRINGS – It wasn’t an alarm clock that woke up a Colorado Springs couple at 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning, butrather a bullet whizzing by their heads.

Robert Jimenez and his wife were asleep when they awoke to gunshots outside their home on Red Oak Court, near South Academy and Highway 115. One of those shots ended up in their bedroom wall.

“I told mywife hit the deck, so we fell on the other side of the bed and the bullet came through here, hit up there (on the wall)and ricocheted back down,” saysJimenez.

Neither robert nor his wife were hurt. A man outside was shot in the arm and taken to Memorial Hospital. Colorado Springs Police believe the shots came from someone driving by, possibly aimed at the man outside. No arrests have been made. Neighbors tell NEWSCHANNEL 13,shootings in this area have become a frequent problem, especially in the field just North of Fort Carson.
