KRDO’S Tuesday Afternoon Pet of the Week

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region

Berta is your KRDO Pet of the Week from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region! She is an eleven-month-old brown tiger Domestic Shorthair cat who came into HSPPR as a stray.

· Berta may be a petite six-pound girl, but she has a big personality and plenty of energy to share.

· She can be nervous around new people and will need some time and patience to feel comfortable in her new home.

· Berta likes having a cozy cubby where she can retreat when she needs a little space, but once she feels safe, she’ll happily come out to greet her people.

· It took her some time to warm up at HSPPR, but she has recently started forming relationships with the staff members she sees regularly.

· Once she trusts you, Berta shows her sweet side by headbutting your hand when she gets pets.

· Berta is an energetic girl who will thrive with several interactive play sessions each day using feather wands, balls, toy mice, and other fun toys. Keeping her busy and giving her appropriate outlets for her energy will help her feel happy and confident.

· Berta may be small enough to fit in your lap, but she has enough personality to fill the whole room. With patience, playtime, and a little love, she’s ready to keep growing into the wonderful companion she’s becoming.

Want to know more about Berta? Visit hsppr.org or visit in person at 610 Abbot Lane in Colorado Springs. Adoption hours are 11 am – 5 pm weekdays and 11:00 am – 4:30 pm on weekends.
