Weeks of gas price declines end as cost rises nearly 10 cents in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- According to data, gas prices in Colorado Springs have risen 9.2 cents per gallon since Monday, Sept. 19.
As of Monday, Sept. 26, the average cost per gallon is $3.63. The data, provided by GasBuddy, was collected by surveying 246 gas stations in the city.
Still, prices are 11.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Colorado Springs was priced at $2.14 per gallon on Sunday, Sept. 25. The most expensive was $4.19 per gallon.
This slight spike in cost isn't just happening in the Pikes Peak area. According to data, the national average price of gasoline rose 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week.

According to GasBuddy, the spike in gas prices ends "one of the longest gas price declines on record."
AAA reported this was the second-longest streak of falling pump prices since 2005. The last time the national average price of gas rose was June 14. The streak officially ended by rising a penny on Sept. 21.
