Ashten Prechtel had a fantastic freshman season at Stanford

Ashten Prechtel had quite a few good nights for the Stanford women's basketball team during her freshman season, "The past year was definitely an awesome experience," says Stanford freshman basketball player, Ashten Prechtel. An awesome experience indeed as she was named the Pac-12 sixth player of the year, "I was very excited. I thought cool to see a little bit of validation for the whole year but it inspired me to keep…I want to be on the team next year on the actually team so you gotta keep working," says Prechtel. One year of success isn't enough for Ashten, especially considering that the Cardinal were heading to the NCAA tournament when the coronavirus pandemic put an end to their sensational season, "It's definitely sad. I was expecting us to win that was the mindset we were all going in with. Definitely disappointing to not be able to compete in that this year. The good thing is that I have three more years so that's a plus," says Prechtel. She has three more years to keep improving and as you can see she has a great passion for the game, as she continues to grow. She also has a fantastic shot at achieving her goal of playing in the WNBA, "I definitely do want to play in the WNBA if I get a chance to. So why not you right? Yeah for sure," says Prechtel.
