Meet a super student from Sierra High School and the Class of 2020 valedictorian

Dailen Terry demonstrates great comfort on the basketball court and in the classroom as well, "In basketball you have to think in one second. You see something happening you have to think oh what am I going to do. I really feel that critical thinking in those situations and those moments as really been influenced by my schooling," says Dailen Terry. He's been influenced by his family to thrive in school, he carries an impressive 4.572 grade point average and he's the valedictorian of the 20-20 class at Sierra high school, "It comes from a lot of role models I have in my family, my dad, my mom. That nothing is given to you, everything is, you have to take what you want. You have to make sure that if you really want to do this in life or you really want to do something in life you have to work everyday at it, to get it," says Terry. A diploma he will get on July 25th that's when Sierra will have their graduation, "It is pretty important to me. It's a form of accomplishment. It shows you moving on in life. It's just you growing up," says Terry.

Dailen will have a grown up moment when he delivers the graduation speech, "I've been thinking about what I'm going to tell my fellow classmates. I've seen many of them overcome different problems at home, different problems at school. Like not having the resources to do different things. Really make it really meaningful, makes sure everything I say is not just filler or something like that. Make sure every sentence I say has meaning to it," says Terry.
