Liberty holds signing day parade for student athletes

Unable to hold its signing day on campus, coaches and faculty from Liberty high school decided to celebrate in a new way. They started a Lancers parade and drove to each students' house and recognized them for their achievements.

"It was great," says senior Mussa Pene. "It was really refreshing to see how everyone is still thinking about us even though we're out of school. It just shows how much support goes into our community and how much all the staff care about their students."

"It's literally insane," says senior Kimmy McKinney. "It was just so blind siding. After everything that's been happening with quarantine, it's just so heartwarming to see all of my friends and supporters out here just for me, and it's amazing. I'm so happy. it just took my breath away to see all these amazing people here together."

"Seeing everyone outside in a parade like fashion, and it was all for me, it was insane," says senior Malachi Salus. "I had a lot of love shown to me and it was really really special. For them to come to my house and still show they care, they're supporting me going to my next journey… It was all types of different love and it was really cool."
