Ed McCaffrey will become the next head coach at the University of Northern Colorado

Former Denver Bronco Ed McCaffrey is leaving his head coaching position at Valor Christian High School to become the next head coach at the University of Northern Colorado.

McCaffrey brings 13 years of professional playing experience to UNC, along with recently being the head coach at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo. He won three Super Bowls while in the NFL, two with the Denver Broncos and one with the San Francisco 49ers.

A press conference to formally introduce McCaffrey is scheduled for 3 pm on Friday.

McCaffrey posted this message on Twitter today, "I am excited to be joining the University of Northern Colorado as their Head Football Coach!  Thank you to President Andy Feinstein and Director of Athletics Darren Dunn for the opportunity to lead this football."
