How does your experience make you qualified to represent the people?

I have spent my career serving this community in roles that required leadership,
accountability, and real-world decision making. As a firefighter, I learned how to
make difficult decisions under pressure, solve problems quickly, and put service
before politics. As a small business owner and real estate broker for more than 20
years, I understand what it takes to build and sustain a successful business,
balance a budget, cut through red tape, and help families invest in their future
through one of the most important financial decisions they will ever make. For the
past six years, I have served on the Monument Academy Board of Directors,
including 5 years as Board President. In that role, I have helped oversee multimillion-dollar budgets, personnel decisions, long-term strategic planning, capital
projects, legal matters, and the responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
Those experiences required balancing competing priorities, making difficult
decisions, and being accountable to stakeholders for the results. My work in real
estate has also given me firsthand experience with housing, infrastructure, water,
land use, economic development, and property rights issues that directly impact El
Paso County residents every day. I am running for El Paso County Commissioner
because I believe county government should focus on core services, protect
taxpayers, support public safety, defend individual liberties, and provide transparent
leadership. My goal is to ensure El Paso County remains a safe, prosperous, and
desirable place to live for future generations.

What are your top policy priorities?

a. Families across El Paso County are feeling the impact of rising costs and
increasing government intrusion. As a commissioner, I will work to protect the
conservative values that have made our county strong: individual liberty,
personal responsibility, fiscal discipline, and limited government. County
government should focus on core services, spend taxpayer dollars wisely, and
remain transparent and accountable to the people it serves. I will oppose
unnecessary regulations, protect TABOR, defend property rights, and work to
keep El Paso County affordable for working families, seniors, and future
generations.

b. Keeping El Paso County safe is one of the most important responsibilities of
county government. As a former firefighter, I understand the importance of
preparation, emergency response, and supporting the professionals who protect
our communities every day. That is why I am honored to have the endorsements
of our District Attorney Michael Allen, Sheriff Joe Roybal, and the Fraternal Order
of Police. I will work closely with law enforcement, first responders, and public
safety agencies to ensure they have a strong community, and I will support
policies that reduce crime, improve emergency response capabilities, and
protect the quality of life that families expect in El Paso County.

c. Better roads are essential to public safety, economic growth, and our quality of
life. As a commissioner, I will fight to ensure our transportation infrastructure
keeps pace with responsible growth while protecting taxpayers. I believe growth
should pay for growth, with new development contributing its fair share toward
the roads it impacts instead of passing those costs to existing residents. I will
prioritize smart infrastructure investments, reduce congestion, improve mobility,
and make sure every tax dollar is spent wisely and transparently.

What is one issue you think is being overlooked in this race, and how would you address it?

Many people understandably focus on issues like roads, growth, and public safety,
but one area that often gets overlooked is the impact of state mandates on our local
community. Decisions made at the Capitol can significantly increase the cost of
housing, infrastructure projects, and even the basic services counties provide.
Those added costs are ultimately passed on to families, businesses, and
taxpayers. As a county commissioner, I will be a strong advocate for local control
and work with our state delegation and neighboring counties to push back against
one-size-fits-all mandates that don't reflect the needs of El Paso County. While we
can't always prevent new state requirements, we can work to minimize their impact
by identifying cost-effective solutions, reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, and
ensuring county government spends taxpayer dollars wisely. My goal is to protect
affordability, preserve local decision-making, and make sure the voices of El Paso
County residents are heard at every level of government
