Two geese shot with arrows near Castle Rock

Wildlife officials continue to investigate after two geese were shot with arrows off Colorado Highway 105, near Castle Rock.

It happened at the pond in Perry Park on Wednesday.

Officials are reminding people of the dangers and consequences of committing animal abuse.

“It’s not only illegal for you to harass wildlife, its also illegal for you to allow a pet under your control to harass wildlife. We need to leave wildlife alone and be respectful of them,” said Frank Mcgee, wildlife manager.

Both of the geese are expected to be okay. Parks and wildlife crews are in the process of sending them to Ellicott Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for care.
