Arrest made, police ask for help after woman raped, beaten

A woman who was found lying under a bridge in the downtown area told Colorado Springs Police that she had been raped and beaten over a period of more than a day.

The woman was found lying under a bridge in the 700 block of Conejos Street at 7:48 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016. She told police that she had been raped and beaten from the evening of Saturday, April 30, 2016 through the morning of Monday, May 2, 2016. She suffered serious injuries, according to police.

Police say the woman provided them a description of her attacker. They arrested a man fitting that description at around 11:30 a.m. on May 2, 2016.

Police say Isaiah Perrin, 21, faces charges for attempted murder and sexual assault. They say he recently moved to Colorado Springs from the Philadelphia area.

Detectives say they want to talk to anyone who may have information about Perrin or the attack he is accused in.
