Authorities: Sexual assault suspect on the loose after ramming detective’s vehicle
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office wants you to be on the lookout for Lorenzo Brooks, 46.
Brooks is wanted for sexual assault, failure to appear, felony eluding, criminal mischief and hit and run.
The sheriff’s office says that at around 11:30 Friday morning, detectives were scheduled to meet with Brooks and his lawyer to serve a warrant. It says Brooks refused to get out of his car, and told the detectives through a rolled down window quote “I am going to die today.”
The sheriff’s office says Brooks then put his vehicle in reverse and rammed the detectives’ vehicle and a civilian’s vehicle before leaving the parking lot in the 400 block of Cascade Avenue.
Brooks’ car, a gold Chevy Impala, was found abandoned in a parking lot in the Southgate area.
You’re asked to call Sergeant Tammy Gugliotta at 719-520-7158 or 719-390-5555 if you see Brooks.
