Official cause of fire that burned Colorado Springs homes released
The Colorado Springs Fire Department says an official ruling on the cause of a fire that burned two southeast side homes has been released.
The official cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.
The two alarm fire was reported at 11:42 a.m. on March 4, 2016 and was declared under control at 12:15 p.m.
One house in the 2300 block of Bruno Circle was destroyed and another was badly damaged.
Fire investigators say the fire started in the covered back patio area of one of the homes, but the severity of the damage makes it impossible to pinpoint a cause. They say two propane tanks on the patio and a gas meter accelerated the fire. The gas meter helped the flames spread to the second home.
No injuries were reported.
