UPDATE: Colorado Springs Fire Chief to retire

Colorado Springs Fire Chief Chris Riley will retire on Friday.

Riley has served as CSFD chief since 2013. Before that, he spent seven years as the chief of the Pueblo Fire Department. He has been a firefighter for nearly 35 years.

“The City of Colorado Springs thanks Chief Riley for his three years of service and wishes him the best in the years to come,” said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers.

“It has truly been an honor and privilege serving the City and community alongside the outstanding men and women of the Colorado Springs Fire Department,” said Chief Riley.

Deputy Chief Ted Collas, who has worked for CSFD since 1985, will serve as interim Fire Chief.
