Teller County sees heavy snow
A heavy band of snow passed through Teller County last night and this morning, slowing the commute down.
The snow ended later Tuesday morning, but problems persisted into the early afternoon on some side streets.
Communities like Woodland Park and Crystola picked up around half a foot of snow, while some parts of the county received nearly 10 inches.
Even though the snow wasn’t falling heavily the amount was enough to make people slow down.
The snow wasn’t a surprise to anyone, but some people say they were surprised by how quickly the change happened.
Others say it’s all part of living in Colorado.
“I grew up here, so I’m used to it as part of the everyday experience, but I’m sure there are a lot of people who don’t appreciate it at all,” said Kelli Rose, of Palmer Lake.
KRDO also talked to a couple of young ladies who were headed to Woodland Park High School and they said that their drive into the city was very slippery.
Woodland Park schools were on a two hour delay Tuesday morning.
