Fountain woman won’t be charged for threats made on call

No charges will be filed against a Fountain woman accused of threatening Republicans during a phone call to Planned Parenthood.

Fern Delise, 54, will instead participate in an Adult Offender Services program. The case against her will be dismissed if she meets the requirements.

Authorities say Delise had called the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood and was directed to the Denver office. They say she was “irate” over learning she would have to travel for medical services because of the Nov. 27 shooting that killed three people and wounded nine others.

Delise allegedly said, “It is tempting to walk into a Republican Party meeting … and just start shooting people.”

The woman’s attorney says Delise didn’t mean any harm and only made the statement out of frustration.
