Fugitive in 1990 Fort Carson shooting arrested
Authorities say a man wanted for a 1990 shooting on an Army base in Colorado has been captured in Detroit.
The U.S. Marshals Service says 44-year-old Maurice Crutchfield was caught Thursday hiding in a house on Detroit’s east side.
The Detroit Free Pressreports Crutchfield is accused of firing six rounds into a group people while stationed at Fort Carson in 1990. He was charged with conspiracy to willfully discharge a firearm as to endanger life by the U.S. Army, but U.S. Marshals say he abandoned his post.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Crutchfield has an attorney.
