Children’s announces new north Colorado Springs hospital

Children’s Hospital Colorado says it will build a 170,000 square foot facility on Memorial Hospital’s north campus.

The hospital at the intersection of N. Union Blvd. and Briargate Pkwy. will feature an emergency department, up to 100 inpatient pediatric beds, NICU, a pediatric intensive care unit and operating rooms.

Children’s says the new hospital will incorporate pediatric-specific design elements to create a healing environment, provide the newest in tele-health technologies to more effectively deliver health-related services and information and be served by more than 500 team members including almost 40 physician/provider specialists who live and work in the Colorado Springs area.

Children’s hopes to break ground on the new hospital this winter and open the doors at the new facility in 2018.
