Driver dies after being shot, crashing car in downtown Pueblo

Pueblo police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened downtown.

Police say a 20-year-old man was shot while driving in the area of W. 2nd St. and Court St. The victim crashed into a pillar outside of the Vectra Bank in the 200 block of W. City Center Dr. The crash was reported at 3:52 p.m.

Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter identified the victim as Isaiah Vialpando.

Vialpando was found bleeding heavily and was taken to the hospital where he died.

The shooting is being investigated as a drive-by shooting, but police are unsure who the shooter was or what the motive may have been.

Sgt. Ken Espinzo said witnesses saw two cars speeding and driving side by side.

Police said the suspect was driving a newer model, red, two-door car with a sun roof, dark tinted windows, low profile tires on spoked aftermarket rims.
