The results are in for the 2022 Emma Crawford Coffin Races
MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- This year’s Emma Crawford Coffin Race happened Saturday, October 29 in Manitou Springs.
The event had 43 teams racing the 195-yard course. The City of Manitou Springs awards first, second, and third place finishers, as well as “Best-decorated Coffin”, “Best Entourage” and “Best Emma”.
The awards this year went to the following teams.
1st place finisher is “Border Pirates” sponsored by Border Burger Bar with a time of 25.4 seconds.
2nd place finisher is “The Boys” sponsored by Adams Mountain Cafe with a time of 27 seconds.
3rd place finisher is “Feeling Nauti”, the Frozen Dead Guy Days Team from Nederland, with a time of 29.3 seconds.

"Best Emma" was awarded to Gina of the racing team “Back Side of the Moon”.
“Aviv Tile and Remodeling” was awarded Best Coffin.
Team “BauHaus Bunnanagans” won Best Entourage.
Each year, the top teams from the Emma Crawford Coffin Races and the Frozen Dead Guy Days of Nederland, Colorado face off for bragging rights and possession of the Coffin.
This year the “Border Pirates” from Border Burger Bar outraced the Nederland Team “Feeling Nauti” for the Coffin Cup.
Frozen Dead Guys Days happens in Nederland, CO in March. Next year, the “Border Pirates” will travel to Nederland, CO to defend their title and keep the Coffin Cup.
