Police: Man intentionally shoots himself in the foot

A Colorado Springs man faces several charges after he shot himself in the foot, police say.

Police were called to St. Francis Hospital around 7 p.m. Wednesday (6/10/15) to investigate a report of an accidental discharge gunshot wound.

The patient, Adam Hirtle, told police he shot himself in the foot in his garage, and that he wanted to know what it felt like to be shot. According to police, Hirtle said he took his boot off and shot it, then put the boot back on his foot and intentionally shot himself in the foot.

No one else was hurt.

Hirtle faces charges of Prohibited use of Weapons, Reckless Endangerment and Child Abuse.
