Colorado Springs Utilities is giving away trees

It may not be the holidays, but Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU) wants to give you a gift.

Between now and April 12, they’re partnering with Harding Nursery to give away a total of 400 pine trees.

Utilities officials say that giving away the trees benefits everyone.

“We can provide our customers to plant more trees in our community that are going to impact the stormwater runoff, save energy for customers and CSU and also improve the air quality where we live,” said Phil Helvie, operations supervisor for Colorado Springs Utilities.

People who are chosen to receive trees can pick them up in early May at Harding Nursery.
