Woman dies after falling off an escalator inside Empower Field at Mile High, police say

DENVER (KRDO) -- A woman is dead after she fell off an escalator inside Empower Field at Mile High, according to 9NEWS.

Saturday night, Denver Police Department received an initial call for a death investigation at 10:52 p.m. at 1701 Bryant St., police say.

According to investigators, the woman was sitting on an escalator railing while she was attending a Kenny Chesney concert before she fell off. The woman landed in the concourse below, which led to her death from her injuries.

Denver Police tell 9NEWS, the woman's death is being investigated as accidental.

9NEWS obtained a statement from Empower Field at Mile High:

"We extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident that occurred at the end of Saturday's concert at Empower Field at Mile High."

"There is nothing more important than the safety of our guests, and Stadium Management Company is in communication with the Denver Police Department as it investigates this unfortunate incident."
