Remembering the victims of the Aurora Theater Shooting ten years later
DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- Wednesday, July 20, 2022 marks ten years since a man entered an Aurora movie theater, shooting and killing twelve people. Dozens more suffered injuries.
On July 20, 2012, the suspect entered a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" and began shooting at the crowd.
Below are the names of the victims who died that night:

- Petty Officer 3rd Class John Thomas Larimer, 27

- Micayla C. Medek, 23
- Veronica Moser-Sullivan, 6
- Alex M. Sullivan, 27
- Alexander C. Teves, 24
- Rebecca Ann Wingo, 32
Wednesday, Governor Jared Polis released the following statement acknowledging ten years since the tragedy.
“The horrors of the Aurora theater shooting remain fresh in our minds. We remember the innocent lives lost ten years ago in an almost unimaginable and evil act of violence. Our hearts mourn with the families and loved ones of the victims, and with the survivors of this tragedy. We honor the lives that were tragically torn away from friends and family far too soon and reflect as the enduring pain from this tragedy will never leave our community and our hearts,”
