Hiker reported missing in Rocky Mountain National Park found

A New York man who disappeared while hiking over a mountain road covered in snowdrifts has been found.

Rangers said they tried to talk Jay Starr Jr., who is from Cohoes, N.Y., out of trying to hike over the Continental Divide in the park on Monday because he was not dressed for winter conditions.

On Tuesday, park rangers on skis found him hiking on snow-covered Trail Ridge Road and he ran away.

On Wednesday, two teams of rangers tried to find Starr and couldn’t find him.

Starr was found on Trail Ridge Road just east of Ute Crossing late Thursday afternoon. He was airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

His condition was not released.
