Police: No signs of trauma in infant’s death

Colorado Springs Police are calling the death of an infant a “family tragedy.”

The investigation is happening in the 900 block of S. Arcadia St., near E. Fountain Blvd. and S. Institute St.

The call for help came in at 3:16 a.m. on January 20, 2014.

Police say that when officers arrived, the infant appeared to be in distress. The baby was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Crimes Against Children Unit and the Metro Crime Lab are at there, but police say it is standard procedure for Crimes Against Children to be called whenever a baby dies.
