Cirque du Soleil perfoms in Colorado Springs

It’s entertained audiences all over the world and now it’s here in Colorado Springs.

Cirque du Soleil has brought it’s “Varekai” show to the Broadmoor World Arena.

Around 100 performers and stagehands are in town for the show which is designed after the classical Greek story of Icarus, who lost his wings after he flew too close to the sun.

There was plenty of flying Wednesday morning as the performers prepared for this weekend’s shows.

They were also practicing their balance and working to get into their costumes.

Varekai had a performance Wednesday afternoon. It has seven more show times this weekend at the World Arena, one Thursday and two each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
