Kidnapping suspect asks to withdraw guilty plea
A man who pleaded guilty to trying to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom in suburban Denver is asking a judge to withdraw his plea.
John Snorsky was expected to be sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday under a deal reached with prosecutors in September. Instead, he told the judge that he thinks his lawyers lied to him and wants them replaced.
The Denver Post reports that the judge scheduled a hearing in January to consider his request. If he is allowed to withdraw the plea, prosecutors say they will go to trial.
Police say Snorsky got into the girl’s bedroom last October through an unlocked window and grabbed her. She screamed for help and was able to get away from him just as her father ran outside.
