Arkansas couple, reported missing in Alamosa, found safe

ALAMOSA COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- An Arkansas couple that was reported missing while camping in Colorado has been reportedly found and is safe.

Monday, the Alamosa County Sheriff's Office reported Robert and Mary Jane Bowman from Garfield, Ark. were missing and were last seen near the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve on Friday, May 27.

A family member spoke with KRDO Tuesday, saying while the couple was known to like camping in secluded spots, it wasn't normal to not hear from them for that long.

However, Thursday, the ACSO reported the Bowmans were found safe in Creede. According to the sheriff's office, a citizen tip sent to the ACSO helped find them.

The sheriff's office thanks everyone who sent in tips, law enforcement agencies and search and rescue for helping in the search to find the couple.
