Air Force Academy cadet faces sex-assault charge

An Air Force Academy cadet faces a judicial hearing on charges of sexual assault and abusive sexual contact.

The hearing is scheduled Monday for Brock W. Mangum, a third-year student at the academy. The academy’s public affairs office didn’t immediately respond to a request for a comment from Mangum.

No details of the allegations have been released.

Mangum also faces a charge of failure to obey an order.

The academy has been under scrutiny over its handling of sexual misconduct charges against cadets.

The academy has said reviews by multiple agencies have concluded the school handles such cases appropriately.
