Boulder GOP disputes poll-watching process
Boulder County Republicans are disputing the county’s procedure for verifying signatures on mail-in ballots.
The county GOP filed suit Monday to try to get elections officials to allow bipartisan poll watchers to examine signature verification more closely.
Watchers from each party observe a Republican election judge and Democratic election judge verify that the signatures on the mail-in ballots match signatures in the database.
If the Republican and Democratic judges disagree, the signature is kicked back to a second set of judges with their screen pointed away from election watchers.
The Daily Camera reports that Republicans say poll watchers should be able to view the second verification. The county was reviewing the lawsuit Monday and had no immediate comment.
