Pedestrian Hit and Killed in Fremont County

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle/pedestrian crash that left one man dead.

The crash happened around 5:30 am Saturday (11/01/14), on Colorado Highway 115 approximately three miles west of Florence, Colorado in Fremont County.

A 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 25 year-old Brad Cochran out of Canon City, Colorado was traveling eastbound, when the vehicle struck 26 year-old Cord McClure out of Florence, Colorado.

McClure was walking eastbound, wearing dark colored clothing on an unlit portion of Colorado Highway 115.

The driver, Brad Cochran was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash and was uninjured.

Cord McClure was pronounced deceased on scene by the Fremont County Coroner.

Alcohol and speed are not considered a factor in the crash.

However, the crash remains under investigation at this time.
