Mom of Homicide Victim Talks On First Anniversary

It may be one of the hardest things for a parent to endure — the loss of a child.
One year later, and still no arrests in the death of University of Colorado at Colorado Springs student – Angelina Sicola.

It’s not an easy road to walk for Pam Lively. Although it’s been a year since her daughter, Angelina Sicola, was strangled at Featherstone Apartments, she said it doesn’t get easier. “Some days you’re more sad, and some days you’re more angry, and some days you’re just numb. But – you never know what you’re going to get is what I’ve learned this past year,” said Lively, Angelina’s mother.

Investigators continue to look for answers. “While we have talked to a lot of people, we’re missing that one person that has information, whether it’s the killer themselves or it’s someone who knows the killer,” explained Lt. Adrian Vasquez, with Colorado Springs Homicide Unit.

Investigators said Angelina knew a lot of people and that’s also making it a more challenging case. “Is this someone that she knew from school or her karate studio or someone she just met in passing,?” asked Lt. Vasquez.

The many unanswered questions only seem to fuel Lively’s desire for justice. “I hope he is looking over his shoulder — every day I hope he is waiting on pins and needles like we are, waiting for the police to make that arrest,” said Lively.

Lively said she is certain this case will eventually be closed and that someone will be behind bars — offering justice – in Angelina’s tragic death.

The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, you’re asked to call Colorado Springs Police – at 444-7000.
