Colorado Springs Police investigate shots fired at vehicle

Colorado Springs Police are investigating after shots were fired at a vehicle Thursday night.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday near South Academy Boulevard and East Pikes Peak Avenue. Lanes in that area were closed while police investigated.

Police said officers responded to the area after receiving calls of shots being fired from one vehicle into another.

Witnesses told police that the vehicles were heading south on Academy from East Pikes Peak.

Officers said they did not find the vehicles involved. Officers did locate several shell casings in the road.
