Police make arrest in string of Subway robberies

The Pueblo Police Department has made an arrest in a string of robberies targeting Subway restaurants.

The Subway at 701 N. Main Street was robbed on November 13, the Subway at 231 E. Abriendo Avenue was robbed on November 21 and the Subway at 1506 E. Troy Avenue was robbed on November 23.

Police say that the suspect description in all three cases was similar and that while investigating the November 21 robbery they determined that the robber may have been driving a Maroon Ford Expedition.

In a news release, police say they were able to identify a suspect in the case through further investigation and by piecing together many small clues.

The suspected robber, an unidentified juvenile, was taken to the police station for questioning. Police say the young man confessed to the crimes. He was taken to Pueblo Youth Corrections and is facing charges for aggravated robbery.

Police say that the Subway at 1506 E. Troy Avenue was robbed the day after the suspect was arrested. Investigators aren’t sure if that robbery is somehow linked to the others or is just a coincidence.

Anyone with information about the fourth robbery is urged to call Pueblo Police at 719-553-2502
