Auto vs. pedestrian crash closes portion of Montebello Dr.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department closed a portion of Montebello Drive following a crash involving a pedestrian.
According to police, officers from the Stetson Hills Division responded to the area of Montebello Dr. and Academy Blvd. on reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian. At the scene, officers learned the crash happened on Montebello Dr., east of N. Academy Blvd.
CSPD says a vehicle was turning out of a business onto Montebello Dr. when they hit a pedestrian crossing Montebello Dr.
According to police, Montebello Dr. is closed between Academy Blvd. and Beverly St. for the next several hours while crews work.
Alert: Due to a serious injury crash, Montebello Dr between Academy Blvd and Beverly St is closed in both directions for the next several hours. Please avoid the area and drive safely. @CSPDPIO @CSPDComCenter

Drivers are asked to avoid the area. At this time, speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors to the crash.
