One lane of US 50 open east of Salida

An accident involving a semi truck blocked both directions of US 50 about 10 miles east of Salida Wednesday afternoon.

One lane with alternating traffic re-opened around 5:00 P.M. but the Colorado Department of Transportation said drivers should continue to expect delays.

The Howard Fire Department tells KRDO NewsChannel 13 that a semi rolled over about a mile west of Howard. The crash happened just before 1:30 p.m.

The semi was hauling plywood and crews are working to clean up the debris. No one was injured in the crash.

Colorado State Patrol advised drivers to use Highway 9 and 69 as alternate routes.
