Air Force Loses to Wichita State 72-69
Carl Hall scored 21 points to lead Wichita State over Air Force 72-69 Sunday after being tied at 32 at halftime.
Hall made a layup at 11:53 in the second half, putting the Shockers up 51-49. They led the rest of the game. Michael Lyons missed a 3-pointer in the closing moments that would have tied the game.
Hall’s double-double performance included 10 rebounds. Cleanthony Early scored 12 points and Demetric Williams came off the bench to add 10 points, including three 3-pointers. Evan Wessel had six assists for Wichita State (8-0).
The Shockers shot 58 percent (28 of 48) from the field for the game. Air Force shot 45.5 percent (25 of 55), but made 14 of 25 at the free throw line.
Mike Fitzgerald led the Falcons (6-2) with 18 points. Taylor Broekhuis scored 17. Lyons finished with 12 points, five rebounds.
